Equine Internal Medicine is devoted solely to internal medicine. This problem-oriented book is organized into two primary sections. Part 1 focuses on the mechanisms underlying disease and the principles underlying treatment. Part 2 takes a body systems approach to common problems. Individual diseases are discussed in terms of anatomy and physiology, pathophysiology, clinical signs, diagnosis, and treatment.
- Editors and contributors are authorities in their fields.
- The book takes a problem-based approach to understanding equine internal medicine and demonstrates the importance of evidence-based medicine.
- Pathophysiology is emphasized throughout, providing a sound basis for discussions of the diagnosis, treatment, and prognosis that follow.
- Body systems chapters begin with a thorough discussion of the diagnostic method appropriate to the system, including physical examination, clinical pathology, radiography, endoscopy, and ultrasonography. Read & Comment ›››

Atlas of Diagnostic Radiology of the Horse: Diseases of the Front and Hind Limbs.
This radiographic atlas familiarizes the equine practitioner with all common and uncommon features of the various bone and joint diseases of the equine limbs.
Illustrated with high quality radiographs the clinical significance is defined and additional information is noted if necessary. Schematic drawings are added if adequate to facilitate the observation of small obscure details and to summarize “characteristic” lesions. For this 2nd revised edition many new illustrations are included which cover all parts of the equine limb with emphasis on the various lesions of the foot, fetlock abnormalities, carpal disorders as well as common and uncommon hock and stifle lesions. Text contains specific case discussions and offers clear description of the radiographic diagnosis or differential diagnosis. Read & Comment ›››

Equine Diagnostic Ultrasound.
This text provides an overview of the applications of diagnostic ultrasonography in the horse. It discusses the normal anatomical relationships from an ultrasonographic perspective, the techniques utilized to obtain ultrasonographic images, and the lesions or injuries which can be imaged through ultrasound. The use of ultrasonographic information to develop a prognosis and follow the progress of the case is also addressed. Read & Comment ›››

Clinical Anatomy of the Horse.
This new volume is the first photographic atlas of equine anatomy to integrate illustrations of prepared specimens with correlative images of the same structures as visualised by each of the commonly used imaging modalities; radiography, ultrasound and endoscopy. Additional images illustrate the position and orientation of these structures in the living animal, as they would most commonly be encountered, either in the course of a physical examination (for example the viscera or reproductive organs in a rectal or vaginal examination), or as they present in the prone animal, during a surgical procedure. Thus the atlas has a true utility for the practitioner as well as the student. Read & Comment ›››

Clinical Radiology of the Horse.
The first edition of this comprehensive guide to the techniques used to obtain radiographs of the horse and to radiographic interpretation was first published in 1993. This second edition has been significantly enlarged to include new information and many additional illustrations. With over 480 superb annotated radiographs and more than 100 interpretive line diagrams, it combines the best features of a high quality atlas with those of a detailed textbook.
Details of the normal radiographic anatomy of the immature and mature horse, with normal variations, incidental findings and significant abnormalities are set out including remarks on clinical prognosis and treatment. The text has been updated to include new information, knowledge gained from continuing clinical experience, and the most relevant references from recent literature. Throughout, emphasis is given to practical tips, common pitfalls, and the techniques to obtain the best radiographs for the evaluation of specific areas and conditions. See details
